With over a decade of experience helping clients through challenging moments like divorce, probate, and Medicaid, Attorney Whitney Anderson’s unique and empathetic approach to estate planning turns “what ifs” into peace of mind. A native of Newport, Whitney is deeply connected to the Rhode Island community and passionate about helping local families plan for the future with confidence.

Whitney is known for her compassionate and client-centered approach, combining sharp legal advocacy with a deep understanding of the emotional challenges families face. Her ability to translate complicated legal issues into accessible solutions has earned her the trust of clients from all walks of life. She was named to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list in 2022, 2024, and 2025 by her peers for professional achievement.

She earned her J.D. from New York Law School, where she received the Trustee Merit Scholarship and was awarded a Public Service Certificate for her community service. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Fairfield University. Whitney has been an active member of the Rhode Island Bar Association since 2013 and currently serves on its House of Delegates. She is also a graduate of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy’s Family Law Trial Program and has spent countless hours representing clients in pro bono matters.

Outside of the office, Whitney enjoys trying new things, painting, and taking walks with her Yorkie, Coco. She brings creativity, care, and commitment to both her personal and professional life and is honored to serve McCarthy Law’s clients across Rhode Island.
